76mm Vehicle Launched Grenade Multi-Spectral
The V741 Vehicle Launched Grenade Multi- Spectral when used in salvoes from suitably placed Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) grenade launchers produces a rapid optimum smoke cloud with no ‘window hole’ effect.
APPLICATION
Upon firing the 3 payloads are ejected up to 45 metres where the airburst element will create an instantaneous visual and IR screen. The ground burn element will land and provide a dense visual and IR screen for more than 30 seconds. Complies to HERO Safe Ordnance (MIL-STD-464).
The smoke cloud conceals friendly forces and manoeuvres thus reducing the enemy’s ability to deliver a specified attack profile. The screen is achieved using a combination of air bursting and ground bursting red phosphorus munitions to give a maximum possible screen in size and duration for AFV protection. The V741 Vehicle Launched Grenade is mission selectable for the roles of smoke camouflage, concealment or deception of AFV’s on the battlefield.
