38mm Signal Cartridge, Single Star Red, Green, White, Yellow
The 38mm Signal Cartridge is generally fired from a 1.5 inch Very pistol and provides short range signalling and illumination both in white and infra-red light.
Available for long distance visibility more than 3.2km. (2 miles) during the day, and more than 6.5km. (4 miles) at night with clear vision.
APPLICATION
Communication between combat forces and battlefield reconnaissance at night are essential elements in operations. The 38mm Signal cartridges offer an independent means for this purpose and is also used as distress signal (colour red).
CHARACTERISTICS
Red: Emergency signal, tangible mark at top of cartridge = Cross +
Green: General signal for communication purpose, tangible mark at top of cartridge = Triangle Δ
White: General signal for communication purpose, tangible mark at the top of cartridge = Dot –
Yellow: General signal for communication purpose, tangible mark at the top of cartridge = Dot •
