Wescom Defence Launches New IR Eflare at DSEI

Wescom Defence, in partnership with Eflare, unveiled the new IR Eflare (IR700) at this year’s DSEI exhibition in London. Purpose built for today’s complex operational environments, the IR700 delivers a rugged, high performance infrared beacon designed for covert military use.

Emitting an 850 nm near infrared (NIR) light with full 360° coverage, the IR700 enables discreet signalling, identification, and marking without compromising visibility to the naked eye. Optimised Fresnel optics ensure uniform IR distribution for maximum detection by night vision systems, while the non-reflective housing reduces the risk of unwanted visual detection.

With extended battery life, over 100 hours flashing and 50 hours steady on operation, and a discreet LED low battery indicator, the Eflare IR700 provides dependable, long duration performance in demanding field conditions.

The Eflare IR700 is designed for a wide range of military scenarios, including:

  • Marking helicopter landing zones (LZ) and CASEVAC points at night
  • Covert personnel or vehicle identification for air and ground forces
  • Route and perimeter marking during night manoeuvres
  • Search and rescue / personnel recovery operations
  • Special operations insertion and extraction

Speaking at the launch, Wescom Defence highlighted that the new IR Eflare represents a step forward in soldier survivability and mission effectiveness, complementing the company’s broader portfolio of detection, signalling, and screening solutions.

The unveiling at DSEI underscores Wescom Defence’s commitment to delivering Survival Solutions You Can Trust, reinforcing its position as a complete capability partner to military and security organisations worldwide.
