Direct/Indirect Fire Cue Simulator Air Burst

The Air Burst Cartridges can be activated from the Lightweight Gunnery Signature Simulator (LGSS) in either a static (placed permanently on the training ground) or movable configuration (placed on a vehicle) to simulate the effect of artillery or mortar shells, detonating in the air.

APPLICATION

An “indirect firing” (simulation of artillery and or mortar fire) during force-on-force engagement training demands a visualisation of shells detonating either as ground or airbursts in the assumed combat zone.

Ground-bursts can be simulated by firing Main Gun Signature Simulators from LGSS/SGCC.

Signature: Launch blast, bright flash, white smoke cloud and loud report
Sound level launch: 135 dB at 2m distance
Sound level airburst: 140 dB at 18m distance
Altitude: 18 to 20m
Visibility: Approx. 3,000m
Safety distance: 50m in firing direction and 1,0m to the sides (ear protection)
