Surface-to-Air Missile Simulator ManPADS

The ManPADS Simulator provides upon ignition a blast, a flare and a white smoke trail for about 10 seconds, thus simulating the launch and the flight path of a ground-to-air-missile.

APPLICATION

Shoulder launched, man-portable surface to air missiles (ManPADS) are a serious threat to helicopters and other low flying aircrafts. With an identified incoming missile, pilots are required to carry out escape manoeuvres besides the usage of the on board decoy systems. To visualise the threat scenario is essential during training.

The ManPADS Simulator, which is self consuming and thus leaves no debris after launch, is fired from the original WESS launcher system and can be configured as:

•   Single shot simulator

•   Multiple-launch device

•   Add-on to any LGSS system.

The ManPADS Simulator provides sufficient signature for the detection MLRS-Launches.
