Portable Control Unit-PCU

The PCU can be set up to control up to 20 devices, such as the LGSS and the MLU. By mean of its user interface the controlled devices can be placed virtually on the PCU’s screen and switching between devices can be done with a simple touch on the screen.

APPLICATION

To enhance tactical realism during training the possibility to simulate different weapon effects such as hostile and artillery fire, hits or booby traps, is needed. Through the PCU the instructor can provide realistic simulations of battlefield effects at all times by remotely controlling the launching devices. And when facing changing training situations, the software enables him to react quickly. Due to this capability the soldier is able to train efficiently under stress in force-on-force or force-on-target exercises.

Depending on the training, firing sequences and combinations can be chosen by the user to provide the most desirable effects to each situation.

This enables the instructors to react very quickly on changing training situations and to be ahead with realistic simulation of battlefield effects all the time.

CHARACTERISTICS

The effects characterising the use of the PCU are those of the simulators set in the devices controlled by the PCU. It includes flash-bang-smoke and coloured smokes from the MECS family cartridges and the pyro cards.
