Main Gun Signature Simulators MGSS
Main Gun Signature Simulators are used in:
• Lightweight Gunnery Signature Simulators on tanks
• Range Gunnery Signature Simulators on tank firing ranges
• Fire marker units to simulate IED simulation
• Fire Marker Units to simulate ground burst of artillery and mortar shells
The Main Gun Signature Simulator produces a bright flash, a well audible report and a clearly visible cloud of white smoke.
APPLICATION
Laser-based “firing” during force-on-force training demand a visual differentiation between “firing” and “hit”. The simulation of muzzle flashes of the main gun of main battle tanks provide clear information to all participants during combat training which tank is engaged in active combat. The same applies to Range Gunnery Signature Simulators (RGSS) providing hostile fire to tank crews engaging tank targets. The principle of improving the stress inoculation of tank crews adds an important element to the preparedness for combat.
